Over the last several years there’s been a growing art phenom called yarn bombing. I first heard about it from Crystal Heis and the Knit Knot Tree in Yellow Springs, Ohio where she’s a member of an arts co-op. Basically, knitters yarn bomb things like this tree in front of Memorial Coliseum on UK’s campus. They’re non-permanent public art pieces that can last a few years. It’s really great fun to find, and did it ever bring a smile. The knitters must be very dedicated. They surely couldn’t do this in a short period of time. I love this kind of creative dedication. It makes me happy. I believe it makes a lot of people happy.
