“Waking up this morning I smile
24 brand new hours are before me.
I vow to live fully in each moment
And to look at all beings with eyes of compassion”

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Easter dinner (snapseed)

I’m sure this is the weirdest Easter modern Christians have collectively ever observed. I, like so many others, attended virtual church service, and for that opportunity I am grateful to Rev. Mark Davis and his team at First Presbyterian of Lexington. To make Easter even more weird, dad remains hospitalized so mom and I were left to dine alone. Dad doesn’t care for pasta or salad. Therefore, we decided that’s what we would have as our Easter lunch, saving the more traditional fare for his soon return. We capped the day with Gov. Andy Beshear and sign language guru Virginia Moore. Corona Virus numbers, though horrible, continue to be better than most here in Kentucky. The Governor has done an outstanding job of helping the Commonwealth through the crisis in a calm, deeply compassionate, reasoned manner. I am so very grateful to him for his leadership. I shudder to think how many of my friends and family would have been lost without his intelligent leadership. So on this Easter Sunday I am especially grateful for everything no matter how convoluted it may appear on the surface. I have all I need. I have all my people. I have a roof over my head and faith a-plenty. I don’t know what else anyone could ask for.
