Give yourself permission to walk away from anything that gives you a bad vibe. There is no need to explain or make sense of it. Just trust the little inner voice when it talks to you.

They’ve been tearing down Turfland Mall just a block from where I live. There was a time when Turfland and Lexington Malls, the latter replaced by a mega-church long ago, were hubs of activity. The smell of caramel corn and hot pretzels followed me to Musicland, a defunct music store chain, and my favorite, Spencer’s Gifts, where the best black light rock-and-roll posters and dirty gag gifts could be had. In truth, the malls were tiny, but for somebody from a small town, they were huge. It was a treat to come to Lexington and go to the malls. Part of Turfland, the old Dillards/McAlpins department store, is actually being remodeled by UK to become the new Clinic South. I wonder if I’ll feel the need for lingerie or a nightgown every time I go to the second floor? Ah, those were good times, but there’s plenty more to be had. Life is all about change, so we might as well go with the flow.
