Last Friday a group of us had lunch at our favorite Thai joint near campus. For years now their fortune cookies haven’t really given fortunes. A few names a bit more accurate might be Advice Cookies; Opportunity Cookies; Positivity Cookies. We came up with more names that I’ve since forgotten. Judy Sackett told us about the worst fortune cookie she ever got, thankfully it wasn’t at our Thai joint. It said, “He doesn’t love you as much as you think he does.” Somewhere there’s a disgruntled fortune cookie worker in desperate need of a new career. In the picture was my fortune from last Friday. It’s not a fortune, but it’s a great message all the same. I’ll take it.
