BFF Stacy Yelton’s pretty dang perfect birthday weekend was capped with our inaugural visit to her niece and nephew-in-law Jeff and Cassie (Bick) Whitehouse’s new home. As much as I loved the house – and it is all that – I was excited to meet Jeff’s BFF, Hank (below). When I was growing up, my neighbors had a German Shepherd, Laddy, that I loved. I loved Hank, immediately in fact, and it made me so happy to have a dog to pet. That Hank was represented in the portrait, however incomplete, reminded me so much of my Sadie that it made me love Jeff and Cassie all the more. The best people include their dogs as family. I find it a mark of strong, compassionate character.
