“One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.” ~ Unknown
Me and the folks were headed to The Smokies for Christmas. We made this trip several years ago for the holiday and had a blast. We were looking for a repeat performance. In the end, it was not to be. Poor mom’s arthritis was so bad that, not only could she not sit in the car, she couldn’t get out of bed. Now, let me tell you, my mother can stand a lot of pain – I’ve seen her take on remarkable amounts of anguish with hardly more than a grunt – but this pain, this is different. We’re spending a quiet Christmas in the mountains, our mountains, and that’s perfectly okay with me. How lucky I am to still have my parents with whom to spend this holiday. I do not take that, or them, for granted. Now, all I want for Christmas is for mom to feel better.
