“Every next level of your life will demand a different you.” ~ Unknown

our hero

Well…..this day, like many days recently, did not go as planned. Stacy and I had planned to have her very belated birthday lunch at Red Lobster. That part happened and we had a lovely time. Then, I was going to Marcie Christensen’s for a little get together with friends. One of the friends got sick, so the gathering was cancelled. I sat down on the couch to read instead. The next thing I knew four hours had passed. Passed as in I fell asleep and would have kept sleeping but mom called to say she was headed to the VA ER in Lexington with dad. That meant I wasn’t going to Marlon and Kathi’s open house party tonight either. I met mom and dad at the VA instead. A few tests and two neurologists later, the conclusion was that he likely had a stroke. It’s small enough that it didn’t appear on a CT scan, but he can’t stand up on his own, and he can’t walk without falling backward. Otherwise, his motor functions, strength, and heart are excellent. They admitted him for additional tests to be sure that’s it, and to get him back on track if it was. And if it’s not, then I’m sure they’ll figure it out. He doesn’t feel good, but you’d not know it from this picture. God love his heart, he has never shied away from my camera, but he smiles for me now. He didn’t used to. I’m grateful for every smile.

So sorry your Dad has suffered a stroke! May God Bless and give him strength to get well and be able to walk again without falling backward. For God to touch his body & heal him if it’s His will. Prayers also for Shirley & you, to have the needed strength to help Shorty thru this sickness.
Love those smiles. God Bless all!

Prayers for Shorty, you and your Mom. From family experience of stroke, the drs. told us that sometimes a stroke doesn’t show up on scans until maybe 24 hrs. later. Praying that he has something simple that will correct itself.
