“Instead of trying to prove you’re worthy, acknowledge & accept you already are.”
~ Aine Beltan
Riley Morrow has now been out longer than he was in. None of us had ever been to McConnell Springs, so to document his nine months on the outside, that’s where we went. McConnell Springs is where Lexington was founded. Over the centuries, industrial Lexington grew up around it. A dedicated group reclaimed the land, and it’s now a wonderful green space. This area of the country is well-known for karst topography (sink holes, basically). Springs bubble to the surface periodically, like here at The Boils, before disappearing underground a few hundred feet away, only to resurface further downstream. It creates immense beauty, and a kind of natural magic. I’m sorry I waited so long to visit McConnell Springs. It definitely won’t be my last.
