“Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage.
You have to fail in order to practice being brave.” ~ Mary Tyler Moore

I have a meeting in Young Library the second and forth Thursdays of each month. The lunch ladies usually walk over afterward to dine nearby. This past Thursday we went to Le Madeleine, the French Bakery and CafĂ© on campus. It was a cold, windy day and there was an open table by the fire. It was utterly fabulous. My Aunt Ada – I called her Nannie – heated her house with a fireplace (with coal no less) and I loved it. My folks’ house was heated with a wood stove for over 30 years. I loved it, too. A house just feels more like a home with a fire burning in winter, and that lunch we shared by the fire was as cozy as could be. The next house I own will have a fireplace. It will either be gas logs or real logs, but there will be fire burning on cold winter days.
