Himalayan light (snapseed)

I’ve had a Himalayan Salt lamp since Judy Sackett and I stumbled into a little shop in Madison Wisconsin back in 2016 (I think it was 2016 anyway). I don’t often have it on, but over this past weekend I have, and it’s been lovely. If you’re unfamiliar, Himalayan salt is said to have healing properties for all sorts of maladies. It’s supposed to be especially good for all manner of breathing issues. There are salt caves in the Himalayans where people stay overnight to help heal whatever ails them. In places outside the Himalayan range, rooms are filled with Himalayan salt and people sit among it (I don’t know for how long). In fact, there’s a “salt cave” in Louisville and the Bluegrass Salt Room here in Lexington. There’s a salt cave/room in Bowling Green as well. I don’t know if it works, but I know that nature provides many healing elements if we’re smart enough to use them. Western medicine being what it is, I seriously doubt Himalayan salt is part of their curriculum. Whether or not it has any quantifiable healing property is somewhat irrelevant to me. I enjoy the lamp, and that in itself is healing. I wish I had more of them throughout the house. That’s a good goal for this year. More Himalayan salt lamps!
