There aren’t many UK employees who’ve been honored with a permanent marker and tree on campus. I don’t mean faculty, administrators, or sports personalities. I mean ordinary employees. We’re each necessary and vital to the overall health of the organization, but then there was Russ Williams. He was one of us, and yet he was more extraordinary than most of us thrown together. He worked tirelessly to make a difference for the staff, and in UK as a workplace. I barely knew Russ, but I enjoyed our brief times together. He made me feel as if we had a true and powerful voice at the administrative table. Thanks for all your work, Russ. Your tree is as beautiful as your life.
