Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.” ~ Unknown

This is a terrible picture, but it was the best I could do at the moment my bass playing brother, Jon from across the pond, and I were musing about whom better to deal with narcissists than a rhythm section like us! You get a real interesting view of life when you play from the back of the stage. (That’s not a slam to the front people: they get a real interesting view, too.) Jon is such an easy going man. I see him smile and all my tensions fade – even when I’m not tense. “You never know where life is going to take you,” he said, “but that’s the fun of it.” In some ways he reminds me of dad; kind of quiet then – boom – he whips out a little slice of Jon wisdom. I told him I want to do what he did: play a gig for my 50th birthday in England, not here. I think we will, so start saving your money now. Making music with him was some of the best days of my life, but being his friend has been the best of all.
