Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.” ~ Rev. M.L. King, Jr.

I sure had a wonderful day, which is more than I can say for this poor window, although it’s kind of a metaphor for my day: busting out into a bright sun shiny day/job/people/add-your-happy-thought-here. It started with Gordon Hogg, Director of Special Collections. He was getting everyone in my soon-to-be-new-building up to speed on a few procedures. He’s one of my all-time favorite people, so it’s always a pleasure to see him. Sharing a laugh with him first thing in the morning was just right.

This afternoon, I did an impromptu photo shoot for my good friend Laura Hall. The photo below wasn’t supposed to be part of the shoot (the point was the new microfilm readers), but Laura’s area was packed with researchers (a great thing), so I shot what I saw instead. Several of the patrons needed assistance. Laura was not only quick to lend a hand, but she was incredibly kind and patient with them. They responded in kind. Librarians are important, and good ones are appreciated immensely. It’s truly wonderful to see it. I feel so blessed to get to stay in their company. It is an honor.
