One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” Paolo Coelho

getting started

For years I’ve wanted to photograph the people who work in Waffle Houses. They’re almost always very kind. The memory power it takes to do the job – waitress or cook – is astounding. They look interesting, too, not to mention the variety of interesting customers they see all hours of the day. Mary, Cricket, and I shared a final breakfast. We tried a local place, but the wait was too long. We landed at Waffle House. There are no coincidences. Mary Carroll-Hackett is a creative muse if ever I had one. ‘Grateful’ for and to her doesn’t even come close. Meeting her sweet sister, Cricket? I’m scattered, smothered, and covered in blessings.
