“Miracles happen everyday. Change your perception of what a miracle is,
and you’ll see them all around you.” ~ Jon Bon Jovi

Wenner-Gren Research Lab where some of America’s top aeronautic research took place: You might remember it from my May 6, 2013 post with all it’s beautiful foliage was still intact. Despite the public outcry to save it, it’s historic value, and well-know architect, the university is full steam ahead with demolition. I had the occasion to walk past it today, as well as adjacent Donovan residence hall. Poor Wenner-Gren looks like a sad, caged animal that no one loves, even though everyone, except the university, loves it. On the other hand, Donovan Hall just looks ghetto. I delivered many a pizza to that building, and it was a bit ghetto then, too. But it doesn’t matter how tacky or unsuitable for today’s modern teen these places are, I wish more imaginative minds had been at the decision table. Alas, I’m so glad I’ve been here to see them, and so many others around campus, before they’re gone. Pictures and descriptions, even artifacts, just aren’t the same. I think I’m lucky.
