Lori-Lyn Hurley and I delivered our artwork to ArtsPlace today for Saturday’s Cane Ridge to Cathedral Basilica roundtable discussion on art as prayer. Then, we went to Clawdaddy’s on Broadway for lunch. Native Bostonian, Sandy Davis, has told me several times that it is the freshest, most authentic inland lobster roll she’s ever eaten (she would know). Back in January, when Pam Kingfisher was in town, she loved their food so much she posted near orgasmic pictures on facebook. Both women are right: It is delicious, if a bit overpriced. The gentleman serving our food today couldn’t have been sweeter, and he was wearing these killer suspenders. His wife had given them to him. How can you not love a place that serves delicious lobster by a dude with girlie suspenders and a UK-cap-wearing-wooden-moose-head on the wall? Not to go unnoticed, too, was the conversation with Lori-Lyn. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a talk with her that I didn’t walk away enlightened in some way. Today was certainly no different. We’re both looking forward to Saturday, and I just know she’s just going to inspire me even more.
