These daffodils – what me and Mamaw called Easter Lilies because they normally bloom nearer to Easter – are 3-4 weeks early; the neighboring phlox blooms even later than that. Today was stunningly beautiful. If the old wives’ tale for March 1st is true – “in like a lamb” – I shudder to think what “out like a lion” will be like. Of course, if this wasn’t leap year, yesterday would have been March 1st and it certainly marched in like a lion. Who knows! I’ll just enjoy the beauty of now.
