I knocked, and the door opened. But I found that I had been knocking from the inside.

Due to a strong storm front last night, city officials moved Trick or Treat to tonight. I had forgotten about it, but I thought it wouldn’t matter anyway because nobody would be out. I was wrong. My street was peppered with the cutest Trick or Treaters ever. I didn’t go home. I drove straight to Walgreens for candy. That’s when, after six years of passing this house, I finally had a chance to photograph this year’s Halloween extravaganza. The owners decorate for every holiday. Each display is elaborate. Even Easter looks like the bunny blew up all over the yard, and after dark is especially festive. I found their Halloween motif a little creepy this year. The 10′ foot clown sandwiched between the 8′ mummy and the crucifix skeleton is probably what did it. But ya know, they really enjoy decorating, and frankly, I find it fascinating. Happy belated Halloween and Samhain, and Happy Celtic New Year ya’ll! May your yard always be full of fun.
