“Christ didn’t let the storm change who he was… Nobody has that power over us and that’s the most important thing of all.” ~ Brother Paul Quenon

When yesterday went a different direction than any of us expected, I had to make an unexpected trip to West Liberty for additional supplies. I got to Cave Run just as the sun was setting. Even though I was in a hurry, I had to stop. I had to stop long enough to appreciate the beauty. The colors were soothing.

On the way back to Lexington darkness had set in. When I got to the Cave Run dam I realized the Super Moon was up. It was slightly above the ideal horizon line, but it was gorgeous nonetheless. I parked in the middle of the road on the dam and put the camera on a guardrail post. I didn’t have much time to play with settings, what with being in the middle of the road, but I had all the time I needed to appreciate how beautiful our planet is, and how blessed I was to see so much beauty in a few short hours.
