Santa Paws
Santa Paws

Santa Paws showed up today. He reminded me to count my blessings and be grateful for all I have. Mom and Dad who are still with me; Aunts Janet, Lois, Mabel, Linda, Barbara, and Charlene, Uncles Randolph, Greg, Phillip, Darrell, Harold, Ralph Paul, Danny, and James Trent; my two-dozen+ exquisite cousins whom I love beyond words; my beloved grandparents and the ancestors who paved the way; Wally, Leo, and Lilly for their unconditional love and inability to clean up after themselves; little West Liberty and Morgan County and all who love them; Stacy and her sisters Pam and Kelly who have let me adopt them as my own; Angie without whose friendship my life would be significantly less lived; a good home with heat and (indoor) clean water and all the servicemen who keep it working; plentiful food and the many farmers who grow it; a reliable car and Lowell’s for keeping her that way; the University of Kentucky for my good job with a grand boss and nearly perfect co-workers; a church I love with Marlon, Lee, Mark, Terry, and congregation; great neighbors (even Chainsaw Charlie); my Oklahoma and Kentucky tribes (you know who you are); Happiness Gals Deb, Sandy, Stacy, Erin, Annie, Jeanne Marie, Marcie, and Harriette; the Lunch Ladies Marie, Stacy, and Crystal; my musical family Kiya, Gregg (RIP), Jon, Dave, Dan, Tony, Eric, Bree, Johnny, Pete, Sean, Sylvia, Tim, Stiv, Bruce, Angie, and a host of others; my good health (hats off to Dr. FP and Dr. Miller)  allowing me the ability to provide for myself; my five senses that still work after all the abuse I’ve put them through; and God, the Creator, the great I Am, Yahweh, the Universe, by whatever name s/he goes by in whatever realm of the world I give total thanks for faith, hope, love, joy, forgiveness, and (hopefully) humility. These are just some of the things I am thankful for every single day of my life, not just on Thanksgiving.
