I love those random memories that make me smile
no matter what’s going on in my life right now.

Something caught my eye in the driveway. I feared a mouse, but instead it was a mole. I felt sorry for the little critter. I’ve never had an issue with moles in my yard. I’ve never had an issue with moles period, but I digress. I assume Chainsaw Charlie’s cat, Patches, left it for me as a gift. That’s a big deal for a cat. I’ve noticed over the last several months that Patches spends as much time in my yard as, well, as she does in the rest of the neighborhood. Chainsaw Charlie has admitted to not feeding the poor thing specifically so she will kill chipmunks, which he apparently hates because, God forbid, one crawled up his window screen. The land now barren of chipmunks, Patches has turned to poaching moles. They’re very small things, moles, with hands like old women and no eyes that I could tell. I’m glad Patches has decided to share her spoils with me. I shall reward her by not taking her to the pound for pooping in my flower beds and garage. All relationships can be worked out. And as a bonus, my sweet daddy turned 75 today. I hope his cat brought him a mole to celebrate.
