This is a catalpa tree, sometimes called ‘catawba’. The first time I remember seeing a catalpa was in Oklahoma. Angie Bliss Fanning has a big catalpa in her front yard. It’s just gorgeous. Every time I walk past this catalpa on UK’s campus I grin a little. It takes me back to the 2 Pony Ranch, and that makes me happy.
