Today is Lance’s birthday. He never saw this hall that I walk every working day, but I know what he would have said if he had. I think about him every day, and though time has made his absence easier, it has also made me more grateful for the time he was on this Earth. He would have loved today’s quote. In fact, it sounds like something he would have said. Lance and Willie would have been great friends actually. Their philosophies of life are similar. Lance never enters my mind that I don’t smile, and Willie never sings that I don’t hum. I’m a lucky gal.
