There was evidence of snow in Lexington today. Scattered among the waves of wind and rain were pellets of sleet and fluffy snowflakes. A few of my more mature iris have already bloomed. Though slightly wilted by the cold, they hold their bold purple hue. I love my iris for many reasons not the least of which their heartiness.
