This is Shorty, not to be confused with my dad, Shorty. Shorty the cat belongs to David Hurst and Melissa Snow-Groves. He met me at the door and ushered me in for our six month shoot with little miss Rory. Apparently, Shorty has had an identity crisis for some years. Everyone, including the vet, thought Shorty was a she and the family, naturally, called her Miss Shorty (or Miss Short Tail, something like that). Recently Shorty needed an operation and that’s when the truth came out. She’s a he. No Miss necessary. I have a feeling Shorty’s been secure in his manhood all along even if the rest of us got it wrong.
