Esta Day reminds me of myself sometimes, but she’s far less rough around the edges. She plays music. She’s adventurous. She loves dogs. I met her as a student and, before long, she became my assistant before moving on to a permanent position. Now, union card (MLIS) in hand, she’ll leave this place, and rightfully so. Until then, I’ll soak up her kindness. and remember that I may never have another assistant. She was just that good.
