I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.

I worked a tired work day, but on my way to the car I realized I hadn’t time to think about today’s photo, let alone snap the shutter. Just then I stopped, looked about, then took a few steps back. I snapped a single shot (above) thinking, “I used to pay attention more, and cool things seemed to find me.” No sooner did the thought cross my mind that I looked down, and there it was: this tiny dog thing – a keepsake of some sort – leaning against a UK sign. I walked past it without a glance before I stepped back to photograph Barker Hall. I smiled, and said ‘thank you’ to the universe. It matters when you stop, even if it’s just for a moment. I’m eternally grateful for the reminder.
