into the sunset

With no room at the Inn (my Inn, that is), Sharon is bunking with Maggie Jacobs. We had dinner at her farm last night. It’s a truly gorgeous place. We had a wonderful meal together, meeting new friends along the way, like this mare whose name I didn’t learn before I left. I was walking near the fence and she came to me. Horses are typically curious about cameras. True to that theory, she was all about mine. We had a great time together as the sun continued to set, and she walked the fence line with me as I explored the golden hour through the pines along the drive. It was a beautiful evening filled with laughter, delicious food, new friends, old friends, and more kindness than I deserve. I was grateful for every second of it.
